China-Kazakhstan Commercial Summit Forum kicked off in Beijing on April 9. China’s Vice Premier Wang Qishan and Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Masimov were present and delivered speeches at the Forum. Wang expressed that the China-Kazakhstan bilateral relations continues to develop and economic cooperation becomes closer since the diplomatic relationship between the two countries was established 16 years ago. The bilateral trade volume amounted to US$13.9 billion in 2007, which exceeded the target of US$10 billion 3 years in advance. The two sides enjoy increasingly deepening of the cooperation in the sectors of energy, railway, telecom and mineral resources, etc. The scale of mutual investment and economic and technological cooperation is ever-increasingly enlarged, leading to the gradual establishment and perfection of a cooperative mechanism between the two countries. Wang pointed out that the economy of both countries is currently in a period of rapid development, the bilateral economic and trade cooperation possesses great potentials. The promotion of major projects and infrastructure f construction shall be further promoted, creating a more favorable situation for the bilateral economic and trade development. China is willing to continue the comprehensive deepening of the mutually beneficial cooperation, and enrich the content of the strategic partnership. The China- Kazakhstan cooperation shall keep the following principles: 1.support each other for common prosperity, concerning the mutual interests for realizing common development and progress; 2. enlarge cooperation for mutual benefit and win-win situation, playing the role of mutual complementary predominance in trade, investment, energy resources and technology, etc.; 3. actively promote the cooperation in the energy sector and non-energy sectors, and start up a set of economic and technological cooperative projects as soon as possible. Wang stressed that the year 2008 is the 30th anniversary of China’s reform and opening up, China’s sustained and rapid economic development has not only brought about the benefit for the Chinese people, but also the huge business opportunities for entrepreneurs all over the world. The Chinese government shall continue as always to support the enterprises of the two countries to develop the mutually beneficial cooperation on multi-level and in broader fields. Masimov expressed that Kazakhstan has attached great importance to developing the strategic partnership with China. At present, the economic and trade cooperative sectors between the two sides have been further widened, and the cooperative level has been continuously improved. The bilateral economic and trade ties have become an important constituent of the bilateral relations. The bilateral trade volume is expected to exceed US$15 billion in 2008. Following the progress of the biological cooperation in energy, resources, etc., the two sides shall launch a set of big projects in the cooperation of non-energy sectors. The enterprises of the two countries are expected to further expand the exchanges and cooperation. The government of Kazakhstan shall vigorously create an advantageous situation for the Chinese enterprises investing in Kazakhstan. Before the opening of the Forum, Wang met with Masimov and his delegation, and exchanged views on building an even closer cooperative relationship between the two countries. |
