The 2-day 2008 Working Meeting of Economic and Commercial Counselors closed on July 18 in Beijing. During the meeting, Wang Qishan, Member of the Politbureau of the CPC Central Committee, Vice-Premier of the State Council chaired a symposium with some counselors at Zhongnanhai. He delivered an important speech on further strengthening the work of economic and commercial offices stationed abroad under the new situation. Minister of Commerce Chen Deming delivered a keynote report entitled “Transferring Function, Serving the Overall Situation and Striving to Ensure that the Economic and Commercial Offices Stationed abroad Function Properly in the New Era”. Wang Hemin, Member of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, Member of Leading Party Group of the Ministry of Commerce and Director of CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection in the Ministry of Commerce, delivered a special report on strengthening the honest and clean construction of the economic and commercial offices stationed abroad. Yu Guangzhou, Deputy Secretary of MOFCOM CPC Committee and Vice Minister, summarized on the meeting and made a deployment on earnestly learning the spirit of Vice-Premier Wang’s speech and implementing the results achieved at the meeting. Members of MOFCOM CPC Committee, representatives from the CPC Central Committee, the state departments concerned, and 173 economic and commercial counselors stationed abroad attended the meeting. The said attendees discussed earnestly on how to further strengthen the work of the economic and commercial offices stationed abroad under the new situation. |
